CRISPR-U™ Gene Knockout Cell Line Strategy

EDN1 Gene Knockout Strategy

CRISPR-U™ technology (CRISPR based), developed by Ubigene, is more efficient than general CRISPR/Cas9 technology in double-strand breaking and homologous recombination. With CRISPR-U™, Ubigene has successfully edited over 3000 genes on more than 100 types of cell lines.
Objective
To create a Human EDN1 Knockout model in cell line by CRISPR-U™-mediated genome engineering.
Target gene info
Official symbol EDN1
Gene id 1906
Organism Homo sapiens
Official full symbol endothelin 1
Gene type protein-coding
Also known as ARCND3, ET1, HDLCQ7, PPET1, QME
Summary This gene encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to generate a secreted peptide that belongs to the endothelin/sarafotoxin family. This peptide is a potent vasoconstrictor and its cognate receptors are therapeutic targets in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Aberrant expression of this gene may promote tumorigenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Genomic regions Chromosome 6
