CRISPR-U™ Gene Knockout Cell Line Strategy

MPLKIP Gene Knockout Strategy

CRISPR-U™ technology (CRISPR based), developed by Ubigene, is more efficient than general CRISPR/Cas9 technology in double-strand breaking and homologous recombination. With CRISPR-U™, Ubigene has successfully edited over 3000 genes on more than 100 types of cell lines.
Objective
To create a Human MPLKIP Knockout model in cell line by CRISPR-U™-mediated genome engineering.
Target gene info
Official symbol MPLKIP
Gene id 136647
Organism Homo sapiens
Official full symbol M-phase specific PLK1 interacting protein
Gene type protein-coding
Also known as ABHS, C7orf11, ORF20, TTD4
Summary The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the centrosome during mitosis and to the midbody during cytokinesis. The protein is phosphorylated by cyclin-dependent kinase 1 during mitosis and subsequently interacts with polo-like kinase 1. The protein is thought to function in regulating mitosis and cytokinesis. Mutations in this gene result in nonphotosensitive trichothiodystrophy.
Genomic regions Chromosome 7
