CRISPR-U™ Gene Knockout Cell Line Strategy

MYL9 Gene Knockout Strategy

CRISPR-U™ technology (CRISPR based), developed by Ubigene, is more efficient than general CRISPR/Cas9 technology in double-strand breaking and homologous recombination. With CRISPR-U™, Ubigene has successfully edited over 3000 genes on more than 100 types of cell lines.
Objective
To create a Human MYL9 Knockout model in cell line by CRISPR-U™-mediated genome engineering.
Target gene info
Official symbol MYL9
Gene id 10398
Organism Homo sapiens
Official full symbol myosin light chain 9
Gene type protein-coding
Also known as LC20, MLC-2C, MLC2, MRLC1, MYRL2
Summary Myosin, a structural component of muscle, consists of two heavy chains and four light chains. The protein encoded by this gene is a myosin light chain that may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads. The encoded protein binds calcium and is activated by myosin light chain kinase. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Genomic regions Chromosome 20
